
The series creative team has revealed that the main character, Nancy Drew, is a high school graduate who lives in the apparently haunted town of Horseshoe Bay. The show takes cues from some of the other CW shows such as Riverdale which are apparent in the trailers and it’s even schedule to air right after Riverdale in October. The new CW mystery show, Nancy Drew, gives fans a new look at the iconic young detective. The show has been in development since October 2020, and Simon and Schuster published a “Tom Swift” series in 2019.Īnother CW show is also getting a spinoff.At San Diego Comic-Con 2019 this weekend, the cast of Nancy Drew talked about what their show is about and revealed a new trailer. Tom’s missions will require his genius and flair for innovation guided by love, romance, friendship and the mysteries of the universe yet-unsolved. Tom takes to the road on a quest to unravel the truth, leaving behind the comforts of his usual moneyed lifestyle, all while fighting to stay one step ahead of an Illuminati-scale group hell-bent on stopping him.

The spinoff show will focus on the serialized adventures of the titular Black, gay, billionaire inventor, who is thrust into a world of sci-fi conspiracy and unexplained phenomena after the shocking disappearance of his father.

Tom, played by actor Tian Richards, first appeared in the episode titled “The Celestial Visitor”. The character, who made his first appearance in Nancy Drew‘s second season, will be getting his own spinoff show on The CW, according to Variety.
